So…What exactly is a lash lift and why would you want one?
In a nutshell, a lash lift is a perm for your eyelashes. It creates a long lasting curl that lifts your eyelashes making your eyes appear more open and your lashes look longer and thicker.
Who is it for…? Short answer…EVERYONE! Obviously the longer your lashes are the more dramatic the lift but even those of you with teeny tiny lashes can benefit from a lash lift.
I love lash lifts for myself as my eyelashes, like my hair, are stubbornly straight resistant to even the strongest lash curlers (…in the past I’ve been known to cut half my lashes off due to lash curlers which is why their existence is banned from my house!) My lashes would curl for about 20 minutes and then sink like the titanic so they would be back pointing at my toes.
Why not just get eyelash extensions I hear you ask…? Personally, I love the look of eyelash extensions and have had them in the past but I have a love / hate relationship with them. I cannot be bothered with the constant upkeep of keeping them looking good. The washing, the drying, the brushing, the sleeping on my back, ( FYI I don’t snore…I snuffle…it’s much cuter!) Financially the infills every 2-3 weeks I couldn’t justify …(read…”sneak past my husband unnoticed on the bank statements”).
Lash lifts are a great alternative for all you busy gals out there because there is virtually no maintenance with them! You have to be gentle with them for 24 hours after your appointment ie not rubbing them and try to keep them as dry as possible for 24 hours, no steam or swimming for 48 hours and that’s it…seriously…nothing else…nada…zip. Life’s busy enough without having to faff abut with your lashes and what’s even better, you’ll save so much time in the mornings! You’re welcome x
So, what exactly happens when you come to see me for this amazing, life changing procedure…( OK, that may be a bit of an exaggeration…not quite life changing but very close..)
A lash lift takes about 45 minutes. You get to have a nap on my extremely comfortable table, ( you even get a snuggly blanket!!)
A hydrating lash pad is put over your lower lashes and then your eyes remain closed for the duration…feel free have a lash nap…they’re complimentary. A soft silicon rod is placed on your upper eyelid and your upper lashes are gently bonded to this rod which will determine the degree of curl you will end up with. A relaxing solution is placed onto the lower half of your lashes for 6 minutes and then removed.
A second solution is applied which sets the curl of the lashes and this remains on the lashes for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes your eyes are rinsed just like they are after a lash tint which, is actually complimentary with every lash lift I do…again..you’re welcome x The tint is rinsed off after 5 minutes and then a nourishing conditioner is applied to your lashes, just like at the hairdressers…but on your lashes…you get the idea…
And…voila! Gorgeous lashes for the next 6-12 weeks ( depending on your lash cycle).
